Really? Thats awesome! The dev's really need to make a Pet Stats page like they have for our characters via (H). Of course... I'm sure it's already been mentioned in the suggestions forum... but I'm gonna do a search just to be safe...

Does the level of Beast Mastery affect how likely you are to charm an animal? If it is too low does that mean you can not charm it at all?

Or does BM simply add more attacks and pet skills for you to use.

I read some where that there has been a BLACK Lynx spotted but that it is VERY rare. I was wondering if someone else has heard this.

BM level has nothing at all to do with your chances of charming an animal.

Neither... it makes your pet hit harder, crit more often, and of course makes your BM-linked skills better.

I have the black widiow. it was kind of hard to get seeing that the group i was in liked to die alot, bt at the end of the escort mission there a chest. pop it and out comes the spider. Ive never seen it poison a player (dont mean it wont happen) but i have seen it kick the hell out of un skilled players. Oh and to the people that have the bear the spider dose kick its ass hands down, i got lucky in a 4v4 to pet battle one.

What's really too bad is that they don't have armor for your pet. That would be way cool.

Also has anyone tried to charm a drake?

If you're level 18 and you get a new pet (level 5) will it gain XP even when you don't (e.g. against level 9 enemies)?

That is, I believe, because you're comparing a level 20 to at most level 5 for the others.

However, from what I've heard, all pets are equal except for the spider doing slightly more average damage...

Nevertheless, from my own personal experience, stalkers seem to have very bad luck streaks with damage (deals little damage and takes quite a bit of damage) while other pets usually fare better.

And there was that bit about bears using brutal mauling?

In any case, I do believe there is some kind of difference between the different pets (ex. Melandru's Stalker has weaker stats but does more when used with pet skills--by the way, that's an example of a possibility, not an actual proven fact) but as with everything else, all works out pretty much evenly in the end--which means your pet choice is based on ascthetics alone at the moment.

No.... whatever the (fastest attacker or best damage ability) is the best pet why cause if that guide you stated is correct then all animals EVEN YOUR SO CALLED better SPIDER IS exactly the same for those who don't believe me. Do something people never do the MATH.....

This is simplest math just think about it.
the FORMULA I come up with according to your guide:
AVG DAMAGE = (LVL) + 3, ARMOR = (LVL) x 3

Animal Lvl Dmg Armor AVG DMG ARMOR
TAKE ANY PET
Elder Black Widow 20 Prc 17-29 AC 60 (17-29)/2 = 23 60
vs
Strider 1 Prc 3-5 AC 3 AVG DMG 4
If using the formula making the strider is lvl 20
20+3, 20x3 he ends up being same as spider NO DIFFERENCE
Now assume lvl of black widow is lvl 1
ATTACK 23/20 = 1.15 + 3 = 4.15 round to a whole number = 4
AC 60/20 = 3
He would be exactly the same as strider NO DIFFERENCE ANY STATS HERE!

So all you people thinking pets are better then each other is only the pet's OVERALL ATTACK SPEED or ATTACK EFFECT or some being QUICKER Pets .....

I even argue with you guys that if you just take damage TYPE then
the WARTHOG is better than a spider cause there is armor and effects that blocks PIERCING damage<NECRO> but I don't think theirs anything except shields for BLUNT damage. Now I would have to know the speed of pet travel + attack speed + pet's abilities <if any apply> before you know what pet is actually <FACTUALLY> better than another PET.

But like guys I think some pets have special attacks and attack speed that give certain pets advantages over others.
